Second round of funding to support local groups now open

The Community Fund provides a total of £40,000 across two rounds of funding during the year and groups and charities in Colchester are encouraged to apply for a share. Applicants must demonstrate how their services and projects can offer support to CBH’s tenants and leaseholders with the cost-of-living crisis.
Last year’s funding saw a total of 48 organisations and projects benefit from the fund. This year’s Round 1 awards saw 12 community groups share £17,756 to help deliver among other things careers advice, cooking skills, and nature-based activities.
Colchester Borough Homes Chief Executive, Philip Sullivan, said: “We were thrilled with the response to our first round of funding, and we’re proud to have supported 12 deserving local groups so far this year. “Local groups provide a wide range of valuable support to our communities and residents, and we encourage any local group or charity to apply for a share of this funding. “We know that many people are struggling with the cost of living, so we’re particularly interested in applications from groups that can support our most financially vulnerable tenants and others in our communities.”
Along with the Community Fund, CBH actively supports and funds local organisations throughout the year. These partnerships provide tenants and leaseholders with the reassurance that support is always available for a variety of needs. Find out more here.
Applications for the second round of funding can be made by completing the form here or emailing resident.engagement@cbhomes.org.uk, and should be submitted by 16 November 2023.
