Second Round of 2025 Community Funding to support local groups now open
Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) is inviting local groups and charities across Colchester to apply for the second round of its 2025 Community Fund, which provides small grants to organisations supporting the local community.
The CBH Community Fund is designed to help groups deliver projects that make a real difference to residents, particularly CBH tenants and leaseholders. This year, £40,000 was made available across two rounds of funding for 2025–26. The first round awarded £18,550 to a range of local initiatives, and now applications are open for the second round.
To qualify, applicants should demonstrate how their projects will benefit the community and support those most affected by the ongoing cost-of-living challenges.
Philip Sullivan, Chief Executive of Colchester Borough Homes, said: “The first round of funding has already helped many local organisations deliver vital services and support to residents. We’re proud to continue this commitment and encourage more groups to apply for the second round. These grants are an opportunity to strengthen community resilience and make a positive impact where it’s needed most.”
CBH remains committed to supporting the community beyond the Community Fund, working closely with local organisations year-round to ensure tenants and leaseholders have access to vital resources and assistance. Further information on how CBH supports local groups can be found here.

If your Application for Community Funding is successful You agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. To use the |Community Funding only for the purposes detailed in the Application
2. To provide CBH, on request, with such further information, explanations as may be required for it to establish that the Community Funding has been used in accordance with the Application made.
3. If your Event/activity does not go ahead for any reason You agree to return the Community Funding in full and in a timely manner to CBH
4. CBH will have no responsibility for your Event or any obligation to provide any further funding over and above the Community Funding allocated
5. Failure to use the Grant Funding for the Event and/or in accordance with the Application made may result in any Community Funding needing to be repaid by You to CBH within seven days of a written notification being given to You by CBH
