Colchester Borough Homes Community Fund opens for 2026 applications

Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) is calling on local groups, charities, and community organisations across Colchester to apply for the first round of its 2026 Community Fund, which offers small grants to projects making a meaningful difference to local residents.

The CBH Community Fund supports initiatives that improve wellbeing, strengthen neighbourhoods, and provide practical help to those who need it most – with a particular focus on CBH tenants and leaseholders. A total of £40,000 is available across two funding rounds for 2026–27.

To be eligible, applicants must show how their project will benefit the wider community and support local people facing ongoing cost of living pressures.

CBH’s work with the community extends beyond the Community Fund. The organisation partners with local charities and support services year round to ensure tenants and leaseholders have access to essential resources, advice, and practical assistance. Applications for the first round of funding must be submitted by 17 May 2026. Apply online below.

3. If your Event/activity does not go ahead for any reason You agree to return the Community Funding in full and in a timely manner to CBH

4. CBH will have no responsibility for your Event or any obligation to provide any further funding over and above the Community Funding allocated

5. Failure to use the Grant Funding for the Event and/or in accordance with the Application made may result in any Community Funding needing to be repaid by You to CBH within seven days of a written notification being given to You by CBH
