Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) has awarded £19,757 in grants to 25 community groups, including three youth projects, through its latest Community Fund round. The fund distributes a total of £40,000 annually to support initiatives that benefit Colchester residents.

 

A panel of five involved customers judged the applications, prioritising projects that address the cost-of-living crisis and enhance the lives of both CBH tenants and the wider community. Among the recipients are St Annes Youth Club, Underdog Crew, and St Andrews Stay & Play.

 

The CBH Community Fund offers small grants throughout the year, with two application periods.

“This latest round of grants showcases the incredible diversity and dedication of Colchester’s community groups. From addressing the immediate challenges of the cost-of-living crisis, like the vital work of the Colchester Food Bank, to enriching lives through initiatives like the Packing Shed Theatre and supporting young people through organisations like the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation and St Annes Youth Club, these projects will make a tangible difference for many.
