Colchester Borough Homes announces Round 1 Community Fund winners
Date issued: 1 July 2026
Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) has announced the successful applicants for the first round of its 2026 Community Fund, supporting a wide range of local organisations delivering vital services across Colchester.
Nineteen community groups will benefit from this round of funding, which totals £19,142.52. The fund supports projects that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and provide practical help to residents – particularly those facing ongoing cost-of-living pressures. The awards were decided by a panel of CBH customers, ensuring funding goes to initiatives making a meaningful difference to local communities.
This year’s recipients include organisations supporting mental health, young people, older residents, families, and marginalised groups. Projects range from community cafés and food provision to creative arts programmes, skills training, and wellbeing initiatives.
The CBH Community Fund provides grants to local charities and community groups throughout the year, with further funding rounds planned as part of CBH’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents and strengthening neighbourhoods.
Philip Sullivan, Chief Executive of Colchester Borough Homes, said: “Each round of our Community Fund highlights the incredible dedication and creativity of organisations working across Colchester. These groups are providing essential support, creating opportunities, and bringing people together at a time when many continue to face real challenges. We are proud to support their work and to help make a lasting difference in our communities.”
