Gas servicing is still an essential service being carried out by key workers. We’re asking tenants to please comply with gas safety regulations, and we want to ensure you that engineers will work to government guidelines, wearing PPE and sanitising surfaces.
However, if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or are self-isolating, we will understand and rearrange the appointment. Our gas engineers (Mears Property Services) will have identification and take precaution to not put you at risk. The services they will undertake include:
- Annual Gas Certificate
- Repairs to boilers
- Replacing boiler where necessary
- Upgrading radiators if required
The engineers will carry and wear gloves, shoe covers, industrial wipes and dust sheets. They will only need to access the boiler, gas meter and smoke alarm, and will have no need to visit any other room, unless requested by the tenant.
They will wipe down all surfaces once they have completed the work. Any work should take no more than one hour and the tenant can be in another room.
