Colchester Borough Homes announces recipients of its Community Fund
Colchester Borough Homes has announced the latest round of successful applicants for its Community Fund. For this round, funding was awarded to groups offering community support during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Nine community groups will benefit from a share of Colchester Borough Homes’ £40,000 fund, which is awarded throughout rounds of funding over the year. A panel of our tenants and leaseholders assessed thirteen applications against the agreed criteria.
They looked for the greatest impact on both individuals and communities in the borough during the past few weeks, and how the groups will continue to offer support for the foreseeable future.
Colchester Borough Homes Chief Executive Gareth Mitchell said: “It’s fantastic to acknowledge some of the local organisations that have played a part in supporting Colchester’s communities during the Covid-19 outbreak. Their initiatives have been warmly received by individuals across the borough, and hopefully the funding means any plans in place can continue while we deal with the impact of Covid-19 as a community.
“In these difficult and unusual times, at Colchester Borough Homes we remain committed to supporting our communities through our Community Fund.”
