CBH’s latest MAD Day comes to Greenstead!

CBH MAD Day Team

Colchester Borough Homes’ successful Make a Difference’ Day (MAD Day) community action event will be coming to Penrice Close, Greenstead, on Thursday, 28 July 2022.

Make a Difference Days bring together Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) staff, volunteers, residents, local organisations and community groups, who work in partnership to complete a series of activities. These activities aim to revitalise the designated target areas, providing benefits that spread to the wider community across Colchester.

After listening to residents’ views on what improvements they would like to see in their neighbourhood, activities for the forthcoming MAD Day in Penrice Close and the surrounding areas will include clearing paths, cutting back overgrown communal areas, gardening, weeding, litter picking, and removing any abandoned items found. CBH’s property services and repair teams and Colchester Borough Council’s Neighbourhood team will also be on hand to support the event.

Colchester Borough Homes Chief Executive, Philip Sullivan, said: “Building on the success of our previous events, the Penrice Close MAD Day will maintain and improve common areas and green spaces and encourage residents to develop pride in their local neighbourhood.

“If you live in the locality and have some spare time, then why not come along and join in. It’s an event that can really bring the community together.”

The clear-up will take place between 10am and 1:30pm. Anyone passing by, living or working in the area is welcome to speak to the team or get involved. Light refreshments will be available and there is ample parking a short walk away, as well as local shops, the Greenstead Community Centre and Greenstead Housing Office
