A further two days in addition to the annual allowance are tied to the Christmas period and must be taken on the dates agreed by the company. If your service area needs to be open over Christmas then your manager will tell you what arrangements are made to take these extra days.

Hours of Work

For most employees standard office hours are 37 hours over Monday – Friday within a flexible working scheme. Special arrangements apply to some jobs, details of which will be discussed at interview.

Salary

Currently each of our pay grades has a salary range and staff move up to the top of the scale (i.e. the maximum amount of money within that range) by annual steps, which we call increments, subject to satisfactory performance against SMART objectives which are set annually between an employee and their manager.

We will often advertise the salary up to the maximum point, although the starting salary for any post may be at the lowest or lower point in the grade. These salaries are for full time hours. If your post is less than 37 hours, you will receive a pro-rata salary.

Your salary is paid by bank transfer on the 25th of each month to your bank or building society account.

Promotion and Training

The company encourages all employees to undertake further study relevant to their appointment. Opportunities to attend training courses will be provided to all employees, on an equal basis depending on agreed identified need.

Promotion will be based on ability and potential. All employees who apply for higher graded posts within the company will be considered equally and objectively. Employees who are responsible for appraising other employees will be trained in avoidance of discriminatory assessment.
