Colchester Landlord Forum

Our next landlord forum will take place from 7-9pm on Wednesday 27 March 2019 at Jobserve Community Stadium, United Way, Colchester. Registration will be open from 6:30pm. The forum is free to attend.

Landlord Targeted Fraud - Helping Landlords protect their assets

Layna will be talking us all through what we, as Landlords, can do to protect our biggest assets against fraud. Some of the fixes you will learn are easy to implement, yet the stories and consequences of fraud Layna will share are shocking!

Legal issues around serving notices on tenants, and getting back possession

Changes in legislation and recent court cases have made the ease of serving Section 21 Notices a thing of the past. Former solicitor and founder of internet firm Legal Mentor Tim Briggs will go through what you need to do to serve a valid notice. He will also talk about the pros and cons of serving different types of notices, the implications of serving an invalid notice and discuss how a minority of tenants can work the court system to delay and inconvenience landlords in getting back possession.

The Landlord Forum is held in partnership with the National Landlords Association and Colchester Borough Council. Colchester Borough Homes, the Council and the NLA share the common goal of sharing knowledge with landlords to improve property rental for all. The Colchester Landlord Forum is free to attend and provides landlords with a wealth of information and advice in comfortable surroundings.
