The following organisations can give advice, support and information on equality issues:

The Equality and Human Rights Commission  is a statutory body that has the responsibility to protect, enforce and promote equality across the seven protected grounds - age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief, sexual orientation and gender.  
The Government Equalities Office can provide information on the government's Equality Strategy, Building a Fairer Britain the Equality Act 2010. 

The Tendring and Colchester Minority Ethnic Partnership provides information, advice and support so black and minority ethnic people can get access to local services. 

Stonewall provides support to the lesbian, gay community. 

Open Road provides free services to drug and alcohol users. 

Age UK aims to improve life for older people through information and advice, campaigns, products, training and research.

Royal Association for Deaf People promotes the welfare and interests of deaf people.

The Equality Advisory and Support Service provides information, advice and support on discrimination and human rights issues.  

The Government Equalities Office is responsible for equality strategy and legislation across government.
