Information and advice for Colchester Landlords

Landlords with property in Colchester are being given the chance to find out about a range of topics to help them comply with their responsibilities, at a free event organised by Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) next week.

The Colchester Landlord Forum, being held at Weston Homes Community on Wednesday 10 October 2018, will provide landlords with information and news about legislation, services and schemes which are highly relevant to the Colchester property sector.

The evening, organised in partnership with the National Landlords Association, runs between 19:00 - 21:00.

The forum, held twice a year, is designed to help landlords make the most of their portfolios while ensuring they provide legal and safe homes and are aware of support available for them and their tenants.

The event will also showcase the launch of 'HomeStep', which is being offered by CBH to landlords, offering generous incentives and support for landlords and tenants for 12-month tenancies.

Joanne Dron, Representative of National Landlords Association

Updating attendees on recent changes to our rules and working practices. If you want to stay ahead of the competition and ensure you are aware of the many changes coming our way, then this talk is a must for you.

Anna Watson, Private Sector Housing Manager at Colchester Borough Council Providing information on the changes in her teams' work and focus & the impact on landlords and tenants.

Kevin Bridge, Benefits Processing Manager at Colchester Borough Council Giving a summary on the migration from housing benefit to universal credit.

David Elliott, Private Sector Officer at Colchester Borough Homes

Updating on the help and support available to landlords and tenants along with information on the schemes available to landlords to help them let their properties.

Lisa Williamson, Training & Operations Director at No Letting Go

Has extensive knowledge of the private rented sector and undertaking inventories. She will provide an overview of some of the steps landlords can take in order to help avoid deposit disputes.
