We want to hear your views on the future of housing

We want to hear your views on the future of social housing. It's important you have your say as it will affect the government's plans for your homes and community.

On the 14 August 2018 the Government published the Social Housing Green Paper: A New Deal for Social Housing. It is a consultation document that seeks views on the Government's proposals for the future of social housing.

It is underpinned by 5 key principles:

  1. Ensuring a safe and decent home
  2. Improving and speeding up how complaints are resolved
  3. Empowering residents and strengthening regulation
  4. Tackling stigma and celebrating thriving communities
  5. Building new social homes and supporting home ownership

Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) will be providing a response to consultation and we need to ensure that the Government hears the views of our residents.

On Wednesday 24 October 2018, 10.00 - 14:00 at the Jobserve Community Stadium (Colchester Utd Football Club), we will be hosting a discussion group that will be facilitated by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS). This is an opportunity for you to have your say and potentially influence government policy.

Spaces are limited so please contact us to book your place. We will help with your travel costs and lunch will also be provided. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet some of the CBH team as well as other residents.

Please contact Jon Cowie Housing Manager on 01206 505349 or e-mail

If you are unable to attend, we would encourage you to complete the online survey by AV4T (A Voice for Tenants) who will be using the survey response to inform their response to the Green Paper. You can find the survey online here:
