CBH MAD Fun Day!

Colchester Borough Homes' successful 'Make a Difference' Day (MAD Day) community action event will be coming to Old Heath on Thursday 26 July 2018.

This time, in addition to the core clean up work, there will also be a special children's event, with a host of fun activities for all the family on the field off Churchill Way.

Activities that will be available 11.30am-1.30pm on the day include a balloonist, face painting, bouncy castle, inflatable slide, magician, stilt walker, Colchester United Coach, large inflatable dart board and large garden games.

Make a Difference Days bring together Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) staff, volunteers, residents, local organisations and community groups, who work in partnership to complete a series of activities. These activities aim to reinvigorate the designated target areas, providing benefits that radiate to the wider community across Colchester.

In Old Heath this work will include trees surgery, renewing signs, litter picking, de-mossing, removing old fencing, renewing gates and conducting a general tidy up. A hub will be based on the field off Churchill Way.

Gareth Mitchell, Chief Executive of Colchester Borough Homes, said: "Building on the success of the previous Make a Difference days, the Old Health event will initiate positive action, to help develop pride in the local area.

"If you live in Old Heath and have some spare time, then why not come along and join in? From helping with the clear up to enjoying the activities, it's an event that will really bring the community together."

The team will be available on the day from 9am until 3pm. Anyone passing by, living or working in the area is welcome to come and speak to the team or attend the children's event. If you can give some time to volunteer, please get in touch via
