Colchester Borough Homes Residents Celebrate the Royal Wedding in Style!

Colchester Borough Homes' (CBH) sheltered housing residents are set to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding in style, with a series of special events arranged to commemorate the nuptials.

The sheltered housing schemes will be holding seven cream tea afternoons over the next two weeks. Residents will join together and enjoy the quintessentially British tradition, to honour the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Enoch House tenants have been working in partnership with local charity Community 360 to organise a Garden Party on Friday 18 May, 12 noon until 3pm. Residents are set to join together to socialise, have fun and raise a toast to the happy couple who will wed the following day.

Gareth Mitchell, Colchester Borough Homes Chief Executive said: "Special occasions, such as the Royal Wedding, really help to bring people together."

"Colchester Borough Homes' sheltered housing schemes have a wonderful sense of community spirit, which is embodied by these events. They are a chance for residents to socialise and enjoy themselves in the heart of their communities. It's one of the many ways these schemes enable older people to keep their independence, whilst providing security and peace of mind."
