Colchester Borough Homes' resident celebrates 100th birthday

Ethel Candler, a Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) resident, is set to celebrate her 100th birthday on Monday 4 December. To celebrate this momentous occasion, CBH have organised an afternoon tea party for Ethel to enjoy with her friends, family, staff and other residents at Nancy Smith Close, where Ethel lives.

A much-loved resident, Ethel has lived at Nancy Smith Close, one of CBH's Sheltered Housing Schemes since 2006 and prior to that was a CBH resident in West Bergholt. As part of her centenary celebrations, Ethel will be presented with flowers and a card from CBH, along with plenty of nibbles and birthday cake.

Karen Loweman, Director of Housing at Colchester Borough Homes, said, "On behalf of everyone at CBH I would like to wish Ethel a very happy 100th birthday. Staff and residents are looking forward to celebrating together and giving Ethel a lovely day to enjoy. CBH has organised centenary birthday parties for several of our residents and they are a wonderful way to mark these occasions and exemplify the great relationships that exist between our staff and residents."
