Local landlords invited to Colchester Landlord Forum

On 18 October, Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) and Colchester Borough Council (CBC) will host the Colchester Landlord Forum at Weston Homes Community Stadium. This half-yearly event is designed to develop close working relationships with local private landlords and advise them of updates on legislation and the services and schemes which are available to them, which can help address demand for housing in the local area.

The evening event aims to provide local landlords, letting agents and professionals working in the private housing rental sector with information about CBH's property and tenancy management services and explore opportunities for collaborative working between landlords, CBH and CBC. It also aims to bring landlords up to date with information and good practice that will ensure that they are compliant with their legal responsibilities as landlords.

The event will also introduce the private housing sector to attractive housing schemes such as Home Finder and the Private Sector Leading Scheme which helps to support the growth of local businesses and increases CBH and CBC's ability to house more residents in Colchester and reduce homelessness in the Borough.

The Forum provides landlords with a great opportunity to network in an environment that can provide them with the most up-to-date information on housing law, contacts for useful organisations and the chance to develop their businesses in conjunction with CBH and CBC.

A number of speakers from national and local organisations will also be present at the event and these include the National Landlords Association, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Essex Fire and Rescue Service. Staff from CBH and CBC's Housing Options, Housing Benefit and Private Sector Housing teams will also be available to talk to Landlords.

The Colchester Landlord Forum benefits both local landlords and the community as a whole, encouraging strong working relationships whilst also ensuring that CBH's and CBC's expected standard of accommodation for its tenants and residents are always met.
