Making a Difference in Greenstead

18 May 2017

Greenstead is the next local area to benefit from a Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) Make a Difference Day (MAD) with the team visiting Groome Court, Dammant Court, Corry Court and Fairbrother Court on 25 May.

MAD Days are organised by CBH and their and Colchester Borough Council staff, volunteers, local groups and residents visit specific areas of the community throughout the year to help make improvements and work together on specific tasks to make a difference and encourage pride in community spaces.

The team will be on site from 10am on the 25 May to carry out a number of works that residents have highlighted during recent consultations with CBH's Resident Engagement Team. Works highlighted for the day include tree planting, litter picks, garage and fence painting, new rotary dryers and recycling containers and skips available for residents to dispose of unwanted items.

On the day itself, CBH staff will be stationed at the MAD Day Hub, located at a central point. CBH would like to encourage as many residents as possible to come along to the MAD Day Hub on the day to meet the team, have a coffee and chat and meet members of staff from across the organisation.

Karen Williams, Head of Housing Management for Colchester Borough Homes said, "We have been working very closely with our residents to identify particular tasks which the team could carry out on the day to make the most difference to the area and encourage pride in these places. Volunteers play an important role in helping us to make a difference on these days and should anyone wish to volunteer please do get in touch with us."
