We continue to make a difference to your community

madday

We are continuing to make a difference to local communities with our Make a Difference Days (MAD). The next venue to be confirmed for 2015 is Carrington Court, West Mersea. Our teams will be on site at Carrington Court on Thursday 30 April. This is second of eight sites to have been identified that will be given a MAD day so far this year.

MAD days are now a regular fixture in the calendar and are now in their fourth year. They aim to do what the name suggests, to simply make a difference to local communities and their residents. Works undertaken on these days include garage painting, gardening and general tidying up. The typical MAD day will run from 9am through to 3pm and sees staff, volunteers, residents and councillors all pitch in to make a real tangible difference.

We have identified a number of works needed for Carrington Court which include line painting, fence painting, communal garden improvements, litter picking and hedge and grass cutting.

Karen Loweman, Director of Housing for Colchester Borough Homes says,

"We would encourage anyone to volunteer and come along to Carrington Court on the 30 April. These days are extremely worthwhile and instil a sense of pride in everyone that takes part. CBH is very proud of these days and their success over the past four years. We couldn't have achieved what we have done without the local community getting involved in and supporting us in making a difference. Thank you."

A further six MAD days are still to take place throughout the remainder of 2015.
